Well, that’s exactly what you’ll get with the pilot episode of the new reality TV show Living the Life, created by Josh. Beat three poker pros at their own game and walk away with $1 million. That’s the premise behind “Face the Ace,” a new poker reality show airing this August on the NBC network. Hosted by Steve Schirripa of “Sopranos” fame, contestants choose a professional poker player (the Ace) to match wits against from among four doors.
The Face is a modeling-themed reality television series that follows three supermodel coaches as they compete with each other to find 'the face' of major brand. The inaugural series premiered online on February 1, 2013 and officially premiered on television on February 12, 2013, on Oxygen.[1][2][3] The format was created by Shine America and is distributed internationally by Shine Intl. The series is now an international franchise, owning its adaptations around the world. Naomi Campbell serves as a supermodel coach and also executive producer and chooses supermodel mentors for all the adaptations.
Format[edit]
In each series of The Face three model mentors select a team of models whose assets they believe will allow them to win the competition. Each week, the models participate in an overall challenge. This challenge ignores team division, and whoever wins the challenge does so individually. The next segment involves a campaign or client. The models perform for these clients in a wide variety of shoots, commercials, or runway shows. These campaigns are performed in the teams that were assigned at the beginning of the series. Each mentor supervises the group she chose as they perform. Immediately afterwards, the client for the episode declares which team performed the best. The girls from winning team are granted immunity, and cannot be eliminated.
The mentors from the losing teams must nominate one girl from their team to enter the elimination room. This leaves two of the models from the two losing teams up for elimination. The mentor from the winning/Immune team gets to decide which of the two models will stay and return to her team, and which one will be eliminated. Each girl is given a chance to explain why she should be given a second chance to remain in the competition.
In instances where a mentor loses all of her contestants, the competition goes on between the two remaining teams. The winning team remains immune as usual, but the losing mentor is forced to send two girls into the elimination room as opposed to one, with only one of them returning. In rare cases, a model can also be evicted from the competition without prior warning outside of the elimination room. She could also potentially be eliminated directly by her own mentor. Elimination is problematic, even flawed: since the goal of the mentors is to win against each other, not determine who among the three teams is the very best model, mentors may eliminate the stronger model sent down to elimination, not the weaker one.
The elimination process is repeated each week until the series finale, where there is one final photo shoot and runway show with the final standing models along with their mentors. The final client (usually a beauty care or make-up brand) decides the winner from the remaining pool of contestants (usually one girl per team). The model who wins the competition becomes 'The Face' of the brand, bringing victory for her mentor and team.

Prop betting has long been a favorite pastime among poker players, so it comes as no surprise that a reality series based on absurd prop bets has found its way into production at Poker Central and will make its debut next week.
The series is titled 'Major Wager' and will kick off with the first of five episodes on Sept. 5 on PokerGO. Poker pros starring in the handful of new episodes include Daniel Negreanu, Brian Rast, Jeff Gross, Samantha Abernathy and Antonio Esfandiari.

The players will compete against each other in performance-based wagers that can encompass almost any challenges imaginable. Pole dancing, car racing, golf shots, and some high wire acrobatics look to be among the prop bet challenges on tap in the first few episodes.
“We wanted to explore what would happen if we combined the most competitive personalities in poker with prop betting in everyday scenarios,” Poker Central president Joe Kakaty stated, adding that the series 'will be a hilarious addition' to the programming already offered at PokerGO.
Joey Ingram has signed on to host the show. No word yet if any of the prop bets will include how long the podcaster can go without uttering the phrase 'the great game of Pot Limit Omaha.'
Teaming up with Poker Central on the production of Major Wager is the Roundhead Creative Group, whose work has been seen on popular programs such as “Dancing with the Stars” and “The Walking Dead.” Roundhead Creative founder Phil Alcabes said that the new show is a way to showcase 'the lesser known skills, competitive spirit, and personalities of poker’s biggest stars.'
The first batch of contestants on Major Wager are no strangers to prop betting. Abernathy won a $10,000 prop bet versus Dan Bilzerian last year when he rode a bicycle from Las Vegas to Los Angeles in under 72 hours.
Esfandiari was famously involved in a prop bet with Bill Perkins that required him to 'lunge' everywhere he went for 48 hours during the 2016 PCA. Muscle exhaustion combined with the call of nature prompted 'The Magician' to urinate in a container while seated at the poker table during a break in tournament action - a lapse in judgment that resulted in Esfandiari donating the $50K won in the prop bet to charity.
Thankfully, bicycle rides and lunging for endurance are not on the Major Wager agenda. The challenges appear to be a bit more exciting and viewer-friendly.
